Are your words a blessing or a curse?

Would you like it if someone cursed you? Or would you like it if they blessed you? Easy answer right. We all want to be blessed… but like the Bible says, “as we sow we will reap”…
What am I getting at? Let’s start with what is a blessing? Besides receiving a gift from someone, which is definitely a blessing, we can also declare blessings over each other. In other words, if we say good and positive things about each other we are blessing each other, even if we aren’t with one another. Or as it often states in the Bible, to bless someone with peace or whatever – the list is endless. Blessing someone is declaring words that are positive, something you truly want for that person over them – and our words truly have a lot of power, more than we realise.
And a curse? Well, it is the opposite. A curse, according to the dictionary, is an utterance or a spoken word that is meant for evil. It is when we deliberately want something negative for someone else, when we curse them – but then again – just saying something negative about someone is cursing them. It is as if you are sticking a label on them and it is stuck to them – they are ‘it’ then, or they become it.
We need to be so careful what we say about people and what we are saying to them. Words are either a blessing or a curse and there are so many scriptures warning us about cursing and many scriptures telling us to bless others.
Let’s be cautious with our words so that we aren’t cursing others without realizing it, and let’s start blessing others every chance we get.
