Sometimes encouraging someone means climbing that mountain with them

God has been speaking to me about encouraging others, and encouraging them every chance I get. Also, to seek ways to encourage others.
Not long after God spoke to me, one of my friends shared that she was struggling to fast, and I felt a strong sense that I should support her and fast with her. I also saw a picture with the two of us next to each other, hooked in, standing stronger. I shared it with her and we both started (and finished) 21 days of fasting.
THEN, a few days after that, my mentor said that she was really struggling to fast (she already started with her fast). I immediately thought, maybe I should fast with her, but I didn’t say anything. The next morning I was driving with another friend who told me that she was struggling to fast – “What?” I thought. This is no coincidence. I knew what I had to do, so I messaged my mentor and told her that I would fast with her so that she would have accountability and didn’t have to carry the load (or burden) alone.
As I was testifying about this I realized that this is a next level of encouraging others, not just with words, but by actually going through the struggle with them. Wow – isn’t that just amazing that we can do that for each other?!
The cherry on top was when the last friend that told me she was struggling to fast decided to join in this same fast, so both of us started after that weekend that we spoke about it. When she counted the days that was left (because my mentor already started a week before us), she realized that we were going to fast for 33 days and 33 is such a significant number for both of us.
(Meaning of 33 in short: Preparedness – This number show your readiness/maturity for a Divine calling. Fruitfulness. Purification.)
Let’s be more aware of ways that we can encourage each other, even if it means climbing that mountain with someone.
