On Sunday I was serving at our church with a friend and we had to lock some cupboards. We knew it had to be 1 of the 6 keys, because the cupboard was opened with one of them. After my friend took over from me and tried each one, I took over and tried them all again, but still none of them were working.
It was hot and I was getting frustrated so I went and sat flat on the floor and started trying all the keys AGAIN, knowing that none of them worked previously. I suddenly realized that all of this was taking way too long and I said, “In Jesus name you will work now”, and as I tried the next key, it immediately worked, with ease. Just like that, the cupboard was locked.
With amazement and huge smiles we looked at each other and started babbling about what just happened. Our struggle/ wrestle is not against flesh and blood – our fight is in the Spirit. We need to learn how and when to warfare. It seems like ‘normal’ things going wrong, but I’ve realized more and more these past few Sundays how the enemy tries to put a spanner in the wheel, EVERY chance he gets.
Things breaking, disappearing, videos not playing… so many different things – the list is way too long. It’s not normal and we shouldn’t just accept it. As soon as we see it for what it really is and enter into prayer, things get sorted out almost immediately. Even when it can’t be fixed, remember that God can turn any situation around (in ways we can’t even imagine) – we just need to give Him the opportunity to do so.
God is in control and He has plans for each Sunday service, each day – for each of us, but the enemy doesn’t like those plans and he definitely doesn’t want us to succeed.
As you prepare for the day in prayer, remember to put on your armour so that you may stand against the schemes of the devil. Let’s ask God to open our eyes and remind us that things going wrong isn’t just ‘normal’. Let’s pray for discernment so that we would be alert and ready to warfare.
May you be alert and your eyes open against the schemes (obstacles or plans) of the enemy today, and remember – you are an overcomer!
