God's opinion is the only one that matters

I came to the realization after attending a women’s evening this week, that I still needed healing in the way I viewed myself. The only opinion that matters is God’s opinion. It doesn’t matter what people say or think. We should stop listening to what others say and think about us OR what they DON’T say or think about us. We should stop looking at our likes and followers, or the lack of it – that is NOT who we are. That is NOT our worth.

I also realized that I still had to forgive people from my past that really had an impact on how I viewed myself. I want to be free from that burden, I want to be able to forgive and supernaturally forget (only with God’s help of course) and I want to be able to bless them. Of course I also had to repent for looking to people and things to find my identity instead of looking to God, the only place I can find my true identity.

I realized that I needed healing not only because of what others have said or done, but also what they didn’t say or do. It was as if a light went on when the speaker said that – that was actually the ‘bigger’ struggle in my life – and I think it still is. How often do we think that the amount of likes or followers (the lack of it or that it isn’t as much as someone else’s) is a reflection of our worth. NOT true!

Let’s look into our Heavenly Father’s eyes today and see our (true) reflection in His eyes – see who we truly are. His opinion is the only opinion that matters, so let’s make a decision to not listen to the world’s view of us, but only God’s view – our Father who loves and adores us.

Father God, help us to know who we are in You. Forgive us where we try to find our identity in achievements, looks, people’s opinions or anything besides You. Thank You that we can know and realize that the only way to know who we truly are, to find our identity and to be confident in who we are is finding our identity in You, knowing who we are in You. Thank You that the only opinion that matters is Yours. Amen
