The spirit of heaviness

I don’t know about you, but I was only recently (in a dream) made aware of the spirit of heaviness. In my dream I rebuked it and when I woke up I immediately Googled to see if I could find out more about what it is. Of course, I thought it had something to do with weight and would’ve loved to rebuke that (haha), but that is not what it is.
We read in Isaiah 61:3 about it – “… the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…”
Heaviness is referring to discouragement, feeling unenergetic, depressed and just simply weighed down. Heaviness tries to wear you down, it makes you want to keep your head down and not walk in that which God has called you for.
Praising God is the perfect antidote for when you are feeling ‘heavy’ – in other words when you don’t feel like getting up, shining your light and to go and live life! The next time the enemy tries to keep us off track with this tactic – lets start praising God, even if that will be the last thing we feel like doing.
