1 John 5: 14-15 (TPT)
Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before Him, for if we present any request agreeable to His will, He will hear us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of Him.
Isn’t this amazing! To know that God HEARS whatever request we present to Him if it according to His will. He hears every prayer, everything we say and ask. AND, what is even more amazing, is that if what we ask is in His will, we know that we HAVE OBTAINED (received) it. He grants everything we ask if it is in His will.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve realised that I should ASK more – and ask specifically. We trust for things and we want things, but do we ask for it? Or do we just expect it? This verse (1 John 5:14-15) became a revelation this week and now I realised the truth and reality of James 4:2 “… And all the time you don’t obtain what you want because you won’t ask God for it! ”
I realised that it is simple. ASK and you will receive, but remember that it needs to be in His will. Pray as Jesus prayed, “yet not my will, but Yours be done.” That is very important, otherwise we can pray soulish prayers (what we want and think and which may not be in His will).
